About KMF
Our Congregation
We emphasize following Christ in daily life, serving those in need, and working for justice and peace. We’re a fairly small group, so we’re able to focus on caring for one another, sharing joys and concerns, and holding each other in prayer. We think it’s important to not only worship together but also to have time to connect with each other, so we enjoy snacks or meals together every Sunday. Our congregation has members of all ages, including young families with kids. We welcome persons of all faiths and backgrounds!

“One of the things that is so special about our church, and what I’m proud of, is how much we’ve embraced the kids. We don’t care whether they’re running amok during the service or if they’re throwing things—I mean, some of the parents might, but... [laughing] We just say, ‘This is who we are. And this is a part of our congregation.’”
“You guys were all so warm and welcoming to us as we moved here. And then when [our child] got sick in April of 2023, that was probably the hardest time in my life, how that all spiraled out of control... One of the things that kept me going through all that was knowing that you guys were praying for us and thinking about us during those times.”
our pastor
Our interim pastor is Monica Miller. She’s a bit of an Old Testament geek, and she’s proudly disabled. A lover of all things pie, she’s also no stranger to a prank or two.
Monica brings experience serving in diverse congregations across the U.S. from California to Pennsylvania, as well as in Germany. Most recently, she pastored a Mennonite church in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Where are we?
We enjoy the flexibility of renting space without having to tie up our resources with owning and maintaining a building… though that means we might be a little hard to find! During the warm months (typically April-October) we meet outdoors in backyards. When the weather cools, we move indoors into rented space. We’ve had the pleasure of renting from Skyridge Church of the Brethren for the last several winters, located at 394 S Drake Rd in Kalamazoo.
“[When one woman] was at a nursing home facility, we went there one Sunday and had church with her, because she could never come. And I just thought, ‘That’s just... yeah. That’s KMF!’ We go to where that person needs to be if they can’t get here.”
